SIGNAL — Audience intelligence, built for strategy
SIGNALis Rising Sign's proprietary audience intelligence system—combining AI-powered research with a strategist-built framework and rigorous data validation to uncover the signals that matter.
Go beyond demographics and surface-level personas. Understand who your audience is, what they care about, how they behave, where they spend their attention, and what actually moves them toward action.
The problem
Modern marketers have access to more audience information than ever.
But more information doesn't necessarily create better strategy. Research can be:
The result is often a lot of research—and surprisingly little clarity. SIGNAL was built to solve that gap.
What SIGNAL does
Who they are, where they live, household characteristics, income, education and other foundational signals.
What they value, believe, care about and prioritize — and the attitudes that shape their decisions.
How they research, discover, compare and engage with brands across channels, platforms and content.
How demand develops, what influences conversion, how long decisions take and where journeys become non-linear.
Where attention is moving, which platforms and formats matter, and what emerging behaviors may affect strategy.
The difference
AI can find information.
Strategy requires knowing what matters.
SIGNAL isn't simply an AI research assistant. It combines three layers:
Rapidly gathers and synthesizes information across multiple sources.
Applies an audience intelligence framework developed from 15 years of media planning, audience strategy and marketing experience.
Cross-checks findings, tracks source evidence and assigns confidence so strategic recommendations aren't built on unsupported assumptions.
The result: faster research without outsourcing judgment to the machine.
How SIGNAL thinks
Gather signals from authoritative research, market data, search behavior, platform insights and other relevant sources.
Organize the information across demographics, psychographics, behavior, purchase patterns, media and trends.
Cross-check findings, assess evidence and identify where confidence is strong, directional or limited.
Connect individual data points into patterns, tensions, motivations and meaningful audience insights.
Translate audience intelligence into strategic implications for positioning, messaging, channels, media and customer journeys.
What the output looks like
SIGNAL turns the research into a visual intelligence layer that makes complex audience information easier to understand and act on.

Every major finding can be connected back to its evidence, with confidence indicators built into the system.
Why we built it
Over 15 years in media planning and audience strategy, we worked across global holding companies with access to some of the industry's most sophisticated—and expensive—research and planning tools.
We also worked in smaller, more entrepreneurial environments where strategy often meant rolling up our sleeves and piecing together what we could find through research, market knowledge and experience.
Both approaches had the same problem: the information rarely arrived as a coherent story.
Even the best tools can produce disconnected signals. Different sources can disagree. More data doesn't automatically produce better judgment.
So we built the system we wanted to have.
SIGNAL combines the scale and speed of AI with the strategic discipline of an experienced planner.
What makes SIGNAL different
The framework behind SIGNAL is grounded in real-world media planning and audience strategy — not generic AI prompting.
Signals are synthesized across multiple sources rather than relying on a single dataset.
Sources and validation are built into the research process.
AI accelerates the work. Experienced strategists determine whether the output actually makes sense.
The goal isn't to generate more research. It's to create a clearer foundation for better decisions.
From audience intelligence to strategy
The intelligence layer underneath the work. We use it to inform:
Who should we prioritize and why?
What matters to them — and what might change their mind?
Where should we find them, and where are they actually paying attention?
How should channels work together across the customer journey?
What tensions, motivations and cultural signals should creative respond to?
Where are the opportunities that conventional audience targeting might miss?
The bottom line
SIGNAL gives Rising Sign a faster, more rigorous way to understand audiences—and gives our clients something more valuable than a persona: a strategic point of view grounded in evidence.
